Membership Questions

I’m an experienced printer, do I still need an induction?

Every member regardless of their skill level requires an induction so that they can familiarise themselves with our particular set up and equipment. Our insurance policy does not cover members who have not been inducted.

Can I make my screens outside of carousel or table booking time?

Yes you can. Your monthly studio hours refer to the time you spend using carousels/tables only. Outside of these bookings you’re welcome to spend as much time as you need in the studio mixing inks, preparing screens or just getting set up.

Do I have to buy a fob?

Fobs aren’t compulsory but we do recommend purchasing one if you intend to use the studio outside of technician hours as you may struggle to access the building otherwise. Fobs also double up as your Peckham Levels discount card giving you a 10%-20% discount across most businesses including the bars and food kiosks on levels 5 and 6.

Why do I have to pay a deposit to join?

Deposits cover us against any damage you may cause to the equipment or the space during your time as a member. Should you wish to terminate your membership your deposit will also go towards covering the rent for your final month.

What does the induction involve and how long does it take?

The induction will cover a thorough tour of the studio as well as operational aspects of all equipment regardless of your chosen discipline. We’ll show you how to use all the machinery including exposure unit, tunnel dryer and the printing beds as well as touching on screen coating and exposing. This will also be a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about using the studio.

Run times can vary depending on the size of the group but inductions normally take about an hour.

What storage do I get with my membership?

Each monthly member receives a locker and either a storage box or plans chest drawer to store their materials. Unfortunately we don’t currently offer storage for Pay As You Go members.
